South Fork of the Snake River Rainbows
#1

What do some of you think about no limits on rainbows and encouraged harvest by the F&G?

For those of you that don't know anything about this check out page 56 in 2004/2005 fishing regs. Here's a link.

The encouraged harvest has been going on for a couple years now but hasn’t had the impact on the rainbow population the F&G would like to see. The problem was that most fishermen were too used to catch and release so they didn't want to keep any rainbows. This year the F&G opened up all of the South Fork to year round fishing (so anglers could fish for spawning rainbows) and made no limit on the number of rainbows an angler can keep.

I am for selective harvest! F&G folks need our help to improve our fishing waters. I normally release everything I catch, but on occasion I will take a few home for table fair if the populations are heavy.
