The spot you fish from the most so you can see the screen, and still have control of the boat. I have seen guys that troll have it set up at the helm and have a hand controlled mount right on the side of the boat. I mostly fish for bass so I will put my up front. There are a few different options as far as mounting brackets hitting the market. Find one that works for your situation.

I also got LS for ice/boat fishing and I also run a Crestliner. I have the ice bundle, so it is 100% mobile. Look at the Arc Lab line of mounting brackets and poles. I’m using the Crestliner suremount bracket, but they make a ton of different brackets. The pole and transducer mount are rock solid. We constantly move the system around the boat depending on the technique we are using. The pole also doubles as an ice fishing set up (with the tri pod). I’ve been happy with the purchase, but it’s a little pricey.

What shuttle system did you buy for ice fishing? If you bought Summit, they have a boat set up. That’s what I did. My Livescope stays in my shuttle. I just take it out of the shuttle bag and mount it to the Summit Docking Plate. Then that mounts to the LarMac 360. It’s nice because I can rotate the screen for others to see. That whole thing slides into the Cisco rails I mounted on my boat. No wiring to figure out because it’s using the ice fishing battery in the shuttle. I use my Livescope mostly next to the drivers seat when I’m chasing lake trout, but I put a rail on the bow for crappie fishing. This will be my first spring with it.

Livescope from a boat is very different than for ice fishing. It’s still awesome, the challenge is you’re in a moving, shifting boat so staying on a fish is a little trickier. Also my pole is not rock solid if the boat is moving much past a slow troll. I think the Arc Lab pole system might be better.

Good luck!

I'd love to tell you where to put it, but I won't. You can probably tell I'm not a fan of forward facing sonar. This will probably blow up and offend some, but it's not really meant to.
