Jon and I fished Rockport today (2/15/2025).
As we were leaving we found a rod case. Would love to return it to its rightful owner. PM me with details if you think it is yours.

Much the same as others have reported. We tried spots and got a few and kept looking until we found better numbers. When that spot dried up we moved again. We never moved more than 100 feet to find more. They were larger than last time, we ended up with over 5 pounds of fillets. We also got a small rainbow and a skinny brown about 18". Fun trip, but we had to work more for them than earlier in the year.
Thanks for asking.

Thanks for asking. Thanks for that info Jim. As it gets later in the season, it sounds like the catching is slowing down, good to hear you two did good and a brown
and a bow to boot, are a nice bonus. Was the brown caught near the bottom?

The bow that Jon got was in the upper part of the water column and we saw several marks down 10 feet or so that I assume were more trout.

The bows I have caught are higher in the water column. 10 to 20 ft down in 30+ water depths. Did catch one brown off the bottom using a perch strip.

The owner has found this post. They are new to the forum and I am currently unable to send them a PM or respond to theirs, but we will get the bugs worked out and the case returned.
Thanks, Jim

I'm pretty sure the "minimum post count rule" is there to help thwart spammers. A Mod might be able to work with you.

Thanks for your help! Thanks also to whoever helped make the connection to them. It turned out that the owners were members of a facebook ice fishing group and had posted about the lost case. I don't have a facebook account (long story), but somone that was in their group saw my post on BFT and pointed them toward this forum.
That case had a really impressive collection of ice tackle in it and it was good to see a big when they got it back!
With the case issue resolved, I'll try to get out a more detailed report of our RP trip.
