Go get'em Bob. and good luck on those Silvers. I will await your report. I wasn't able to fish northern B.C. this season because of their Covid-19 restrictions.

Who is your guide?...My wife and I and another couple fished out of Sitka for a week around the 24th of July. It was awesome and we brought home a LOT of fish! Halibut, Salmon (Kings/Silvers/Pinks), Rockfish, Black Bass, etc.
It was easy to get up each morning (we were launching at 5: a.m. each morning) due to the 2 hour time change difference...5 a.m. in Sitka is 7 a.m. here! But we also went to bed early each night, at about 7 or 8 their time...and it stays light till about 11 p.m.!!!!
I guess there is a tradition there that one must partake of (part of) the heart of your first King Salmon ever caught...since this was our first time there, it was the first King for both myself and my wife. I did the ritual with no problem...but didn't think my wife would do it. Somehow the guide got her to do it and I've got a great video of that! It's big though so not sure how to post it...Anyway, we had a great time, you will too!
Looking forward to report and pictures!
I used to N.ot have E.nough T.ime O.ff to go fishing. Then I retired. Now I have less time than I had before. Sheesh.

Nice going Bob -- looks like a good way to spend the day... you know, if you can't be catching 10/12" planters from E.C. or RP, you might as well be going to Alaska for a little 15" Silver fish...oh...you said 15lbs?? Well, that's different!!...Gotta be a great place there...glad you're enjoying it..Guluk...

Today was the last day. Limited our silvers, rockfish, & halibut by Noon. It was cold, wet, and windy making it miserable to be out in it. But we got 'er done! Be home tomorrow. Great lodge (Kains Fishing), great food, and EXCELLENT boat Captain & first mate.

Got home about 11 PM last night. Had 2 boxes of fillets to bring back as luggage. $30 for the 1st box & 40 for the 2nd box. Lucked out with Alaska Air; they offered a First Class upgrade for $42 that included 2 free bags in the hold. ? Jumped on it. Nice seat, early bording, free meal, free luggage. Works for me.

What a deal, good to hear you made it back safely. How much did the fillets weigh?

Sounds like a fun trip. Now that you are back, the spelling/grammar police got a question. Why did you make "coho's" possessive instead of plural (cohos)? Can't blame that on auto-correct.

...well, this discussion seems to be going a little downhill, playing with grammar, word meanings, etc., so I'll make it go even further down...
We were in Sitka the last part of July and as we stopped in each spot for the different species of fish we were targeting, the captain would tell us the name of the fishing hole we were in. Such as Pine-Tree Peninsula hole, King Salmon Fast Limit hole, Bass hole, etc. It came time to go catch our halibut on the first day and they were referring to them as "butts". (Hali-Butt), etc. We arrived at the spot out in the ocean, anchored up and started fishing. My wife asked the captain what the name of this hole was.
His reply?...."We are in the butt-hole".
True story.
On a side note, that was my first trip to Alaska and Sitka. We are in the process of making our plans and reservations for 2022 and 2023 now. I feel bad that I waited so long to go. My wife loved it and we love all the fish we brought back.
