We decided to spend a few hours on the Chick in anticipation of the rains moving in late Friday night. Headed to a productive area from last week, and nada...nothing. Saw Earl fishing the Friday night tourney and went the other way. Finally headed to a second spot, where we fished for about 40 minutes and all of a sudden the skies opened up. We did the only thing we could a the time and pulled into a boat slip, where we sat for an hour before it finally slacked up enough to make a run for the ramp. Seems like for the past few weeks every time we go fish we end up hiding out in a boat slip. In 2.5 hours of fishing we produced one measly 2 pound meanmouth on a texas rig worm in 12 feet of water on a rip rap bank.
Please be careful on the water this time of year. We got caught off guard as we were expecting some thunder before the hard rains hit, but were not afforded the luxury. It was raining so hard you could not see 5 foot in front of you.
