It was 0 degrees when we arrived at the lodge this morning. Brrrrrrrr
We decided that Renegade would be our destination a few days ago, so we came prepared for the long haul outfitted with a new Big Buddy heater.
We arrived at out spot around 9:15 and started drilling holes to find that magic depth. Once we found our depth and got the heat going, it only took a few minutes to land the first of several slot cuts.
It wasn’t fast fishing, but we did manage to catch 20 fish before we needed to leave at 1:00.
Although the ice was 8 inches thick, there were pockets of slush here and there, so keeps your speed up if you decide to give it a whirl.
