I hit the water at 8 in Jamesville my favorite bass hole. Nothing till 10:30 when I got two on Black plastic worms. Water temp was 84 degrees and top water didn't want to work in the early morning. Heat index of over 100 started to get to me so by 12 I was heading home. Will have to wait another 7-10 days to cool some.

Wow, with the heat index that high the humidity must have been really up there. I might have ask you this already but are all the bass you catch in the Roanoke LM bass?

Went back to Janesville again as the water is too low for the dock here in my area. Going back into the swamp has still proved productive. Not many or large [ 2 lb average] but still fun to fish and wildlife is every where. I'll be heading to the salt in a couple of weeks for my yearly crabbing adventure. LOL White perch are being caught there, but not my size of fish to eat. Dog days are here for sure as my cat fishing has been not working, so it's basin for me till fall.

Glad you are still getting out, too bad you have to travel farther to do it though. Good luck on your coming up crabbing adventure.

Well that too bad, did you need the carpel tunnel surgery in both wrist? or was it in your elbows? Good luck with the recovery.

I'm waiting to do the right hand during the winter. I've lost enough time fishing. I get this cast off Sept 9th and not soon enough. I still have to plant for the fall. Wife will have to help on that.

The good thing is the catching should start picking up soon. We had a nice little cool down already, dropped out of the upper 90's and 100* mark to the 80's, sure feels nice, just hope it doesn't warm back up. What you planting for your Fall crop?

I put in , Rudabakers, some more beets and a bunch of peas. See what happens. While I was cleaning out the back garden I found two nice watermelons in the weeds and tall grass. Nice surprise.

Nice, all I planted late were more green beans. Watermelons did not do good this year for us, only a few small ones around 8 lbs. Last year we grew several over 20 lbs.
