Unit 63 Elk

I have hunted unit 53 and 63 the last 5 years. I had a few back and foot surgeries and hunt those units because I cannot go far from the truck anymore. I hunted a couple weeks in August and seen elk. They were too far or before shooting hours every time. I live in Mountain Home and it is over 3 hrs to hunt there.

I have never hunted this late in those areas. Is there still elk on the INL this late?

I did get a deer in 43 this year.

The later in the season, the more elk there is generally. They get smart after they get shot at a bunch tho, you have to be really lucky to find them. On the INL they will be bedded down right next to the roads. If we get a bunch of early snow the north end of the unit will have elk all over.
