Duck Valley/Mt. View
#1
Seemed like the right time to hit Mt. View, so across the desert we went. Beautiful day....we were greeted by one of the largest bull elk I have ever seen. Fished it off the bank. Our regular spot was choked with weeds, so we tried by the ramp (no luck), and finally the dam. Had some luck, but not much! Very slow, except frequent action by what had to be very small trout or something else. The larger trout hit hard, just weren't many of them. Watched a boat trolling rapalas, and two 'toons fly fishing, trolling wooly buggers. They weren't doing much better. One of the fly fishers picked up two smaller trout, and that was about it. Slowest fall fishing we have ever had there. Seems like I have been saying that a lot this year. Slowest salmon fishing out at Sekiu in 40 years, slow fishing at Lucky Peak compared to most years, Arrowrock seems near dead, Strike ditto. Heading up to Anderson for a little bank fishing this week; I am due!! Mike
