I'm wanting to do a short camping trip this weekend and was thinking of heading to the Yellowstone River in Utah. Does anyone have any experience with the tent camping in this area as well as fishing access?
Thanks!
Justin

Lots of good camping, couple of campgrounds. Kind of open as far as good shade, still down in the pinions.
The river itself, who knows this year. It could have flooded and tore out all the deadwood, moved all the gravel bars, carved out new holes...Fishing has always been good in the past.
With the eclipse and many people heading north it would be a good weekend to go exploring up there.

Yellowstone tends to stay noticeable cooler than the other south slope canyons. Really nice place to camp in the summer. Never too crowded. Over the last decade unfortunately stunted rookies have become the dominant fish. Use to be a better mix and fish into the mid teens weren't uncommon. Always fast fishing if not blown out. Still can pick up a grand slam of trout species however the bigger ones tend to be stocked rainbows below the little reservoir rather than stream born wild fish.
