The Eagles have landed at Lake Pueblo State Park
PUEBLO, Co.— Lake Pueblo State Park will host the Ninth Annual Pueblo Eagle Day Festival on Sat., Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Park Headquarters. Eagle viewing at West Fishing on the north side of the park off of North Marian Road is also available.
One favorite event of the festival is the release of a rehabilitated bird of prey by the Raptor Center of Pueblo. Other highlights include:
A Bald Eagle program by popular Division of Wildlife Biologist, Jerry Craig;
A program with live birds by the Raptor Center of Pueblo;
A falcon free-flight demonstration by the US Air Force Academy Mascot Program;
A program for children ages 5 to 12 to dissect an owl pellet and participate in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win a pair of binoculars.
Door prizes will be handed out and a food concession will be available. The festival is free, but all vehicles that enter the park must have a park pass. Passes are $5 per vehicle per day, or an annual vehicle pass is available for $55. Staff will be available to sell passes, fishing licenses, and boat, snowmobile and off-highway vehicle registrations throughout the event.
