#1
Trolled the lake most of day on Saturday and did not land anything water is 42 degrees I am ready for it to freeze and I also fly fished bank in evening had a couple of nibbles but watch a few guys snag some fish did not think that was very cool no matter how slow the bite is that is unsportsmanlike

Launched at State Park Friday there were boats fishing ten yards out , making it very hard to launch and load my boat .the fishing sucks . 5 times out in the last 20 days . Not 1 fish .

Trolled five poles for about five hours on the 5th, one fish , 6 1/2 lbs. I tried over 15 different lure types/ colors and speed and depth plus what I put on the kids poles. It was caught on a 1/4 oz lure. I was hoping to catch 6 or so.
I think ice fishing will be fair the poor but. A there will be a few places and times it will be good. Last winter was my worst ice season there ever.

Last year ice season was 1 of my best . The fish were very shallow , around 4 feet of water .

I'm from Utah and am thinking of fishing Henry's this Saturday. Do you guys think it will still be open water? What boat launches are open this time of year?

Thank you. I read your post about how slow its been so I'm a little hesitant to make the drive. I have only ice fished it so I am wanting to try it on open water. Are there any other boat docks open this time of year or is the state boat dock the only one? I'm interested in launching at the RV park on the west side or the cliffs if thats an option.

You can really only launch a raft or float tube there . The County boat dock is open and so is Wild Rose Ranch . Wild Rose is very expensive.

I assume you can still launch over at the Cliffs, thats where I usually do with the pontoon.. Might be a little iffy getting down there ,and back up with the snow .

This next week of cold nights may be good for the ice. Hope so. I'd like to be on the ice by Thanksgiving, but realize that may not be possible with this warm fall.

Yesterday there was skim ice on most of the lake, but it broke up. There was ice for about 50 yards off the state park ramp last evening. Hopefully we will have safe ice by Thanksgiving if it stays cold up there.
