I would like to take the boat to SFCR. Can anyone tell me if the ice is off the at this time near the dam. Is there any ice left, or am i too early to take the boat down there?
Thanks, Chuck

Fished SFCR Sunday before last lake is open, no ice anywhere. Put in at the dam.

When do the Eyes start to bite ? ( for a beginner )
Only time I have been there is June.
I would like to get down there a little earlier than that, If the Eyes will cooperate.
Thanks

I have already been catching them. Pretty slow right now. Water is super muddy from Greys Landing south. Water temps are at 45 to 50 depending how far south you go. I have had best luck fishing in 20 -30ft jigging.
Tight Lines!

I haven't been following this thread much, but I think you are saying there are Walleye in the Snake River system. Is that correct?

DTAYZBOYZ says "Bell Rapids". Bell Rapids I believe is on the Snake River. So I think he's saying there are reports of Walleye at Bell Rapids and that is the clarification I'm looking for.
Everyone knows there are Walls in SFCR.

I've seen the pictures
Spawning females at bell Rapids and jacks creek at CJ strike
I hope whoever is responsisble sinks their boat.
This means live well checks everywhere.
What a bunch of dumbasses.

Can confirm a five plus pound walleye caught more than five years ago near Declo in the snake. Haven't heard of any others caught in that area however. Too bad people want to play biologist. Might wreck the fishery at strike

There are walleye upstream so why jump to the conclusion that it was intentional? Do you think people intentionally planted tilapia in the Swan Falls also? I do believe Pacu in Lake Lowell was intentional but walleye and tilapia in the Snake River is not surprising to me at all. It was just a matter of time in my opinion.

Somebody needs to "plant" zebra mussels in the snake, then we'd get rid of those pesky check stations.
