Ice Fishing Pigs
#1
Ice is leaving quickly but there are still opportunities. Hit one of the sloughs on the snake today and caught this ginormous carp, six pound test, took a half hour to land....And the there were the browns. Landed six in two hours with this 26 incher being the icing on the cake. Carp scaled at 17.5 pounds and 29 inches. Didn't scale the brown, little on the skinny side.

Great Fish! . We've been keying in on the jumbo perch at Lake Cascade.. What a great season it's been and the 7 species Ice Fishing Challenge has been Out of Control. I'm fishing for 1/2" upgrades on my perch trying to catch fishman887! Talk about some fun times on the ice[fishon]

You fellas got me worried about holding my place. I don't have it by much this year. It's been a close competition. Lots of fun!

Nice fish Taz. I caught a carp similar to yours through the ice on the Shelley Pond on 4 lb test. What a hoot on an ice rod. Had to jam the pole down the hole as the line was seriously catching on the bottom of the hole. Glad I had an 8" hole or I wouldn't have gotten it through. Fished the pond this week and it still has about 15" of ice with the top 2" being milky frozen slush and meltwater. Caught a bunch of planter trout on worm tipped jigs. Thawing near the river entrance.
