Does anyone have first hand ice information from this year for Deadwood? Heading up there in about 10 days and any first hand info would be helpful. PM's are fine if you don't want to share openly.

Never been there in the winter. But would love to try it sometime. Which way you going in? Would appreciate some feedback from your report if you don't mind sharing when you return.

According to Snotel there is 48" inches of snow at cozy cove. I'm guessing it's been cold enough to be frozen. Snotel also has a temperature gauge

Deadwood was a success. Getting in was difficult. We went in from Warm Lake. Only fished about 1.5 hours the first day due to the difficulty. Got 7 species in 1.5 hours, plus 1 day, plus 3.5 hours.
Folks at the lodge were friendly. Weather couldn't have been nicer.

Was news to me. See my post in the contest and see if you agree. Coho in lakes are difficult to differentiate from rainbows, in my opinion. The scales coming off easily was the clincher for me, but I admit that I could be mistaken.

It's just my poor communication skills.
Fished for 1.5 hours one day, all day the next day, and 3.5 hours the third day. Caught 7 species over the 3 days.
Does that make more sense?
