Where I am in Utah Challenge
Is it on The Boulders?

It is. You're on the right mountain.

Now, figure out which slope, and which drainage.

Hint #3:
this "lake" was at one time double the size that it currently is.

[Tongue]that could be any lake with this drought we are in. I've driven through the boulders and only been to one lake there so I am lost to the name.

Incorrect. The lake is NOT half the size due to drought.

Hint: This lake had a notch knocked in the dam numerous years ago. The dam was placed on the State Engineer's list of needing repairs. The water owner did not want to do the repairs. The UDWR offered to pay for the repairs. The water owner said "go to hell" (paraphrasing, of course). Thus, the dam was notched.

Today it is still a small pond that contains fish. It was for numerous years a cutthroat fishery, however brook trout showed up in the ponds upstream and have now destroyed a once great fishery. The state tiger trout record was at one time from a pond upstream from the pond in the picture. Now this stream system is nothing but tiny brook trout.

It's still a beautiful area. It's a place that I think Chriss would really like.

It has become apparent that not many BFT anglers frequent The Boulders.

Kent -- I'm affraid you are right. However, with the hints given, someone should be able to figure this out!

Sorry. That is incorrect. Move further east.

Not sure why Chriss isn't speaking up -- I know he knows where this is....

South slope or north slope? Is it deer?

Sorry. Deer Lake is incorrect. Deer Lake is a natural lake, and still a very nice sized lake:

You are getting warmer...

I honestly did not think that this would be as difficult as it has been. I thought more people on this site would be familiar with this area, but I guess not. I'll take that as a positive!

Here is the final hint, and it should provide someone with the answer, even if they don't know the area. Maybe Chriss will show up soon?

anyway, here is the hint, in UTM's:
12 S 464466.72 m E
4209032.79 m N

or, in Lat/Long:
Lat: 38° 1'42.15"N
Long: 111°24'17.77"W

good luck! Looking forward to someone getting the correct answer (Chriss?)!

OK, I have been either out-of-town or slammed at work so I forgot about this until tonight.

How about a SWAG of Chriss lake. (or is it Chris lake [Wink] )

I've never been to that part of the Boulders. Sounds like a fun spot.

Yes, this picture is of Chriss (yes, 2 "ss") Lake (http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/dixie/rec...3&actid=42)

It's a beautiful area. Great place for pack in camp with lots of fishing all around you!

doggone -- I guess this mean you are up.

Ok, here is the next one. One of my favorite hikes and lakes. These are some of my all time favorite pics. She is now on the Freshman/sophomore soccer team this year. Where the heck did the time go?

As for the location, I know a few members have been here, but the species of one of the fish may be considered a clue.

Right mountain range, (Uintas) but not in the Weber drainage.
