Nevada license question

If I were to buy a 2 day license say tuesday and I won't need it until say sunday or monday the following week, can I get it dated as such or does it start the day it was purchased? I ask because next month I am planning a trip to Great basin NP and I will be in Winnemucca the week before I head out to GBNP and would like to pic up the license then.

I can't say for sure since I just buy a annual at the store and call it.

On the flip side... I know I can go online and buy a Utah license and set the desired dates needed/required. Did that last year. (I got a Utah annual this year, yesterday as a matter of fact []) I'd check online verse going to any place in this city for a license. I have yet to ever meet anyone that really has a clue since there isn't that many fisherman out here compared to your state.

Also... This state does stuff the hard way. You will need a 2 day and you might also need a trout stamp. A 2 day non-resident might cover stuff like that verse a annual license purchasee. Something to be sure of.

But the 2014 regs that I just looked at said:

Which would lead me to believe you can set the start date going off the statement "Date Specified".

I'd make account online and see where that takes you.
Also second rod isn't included like it is in Utah now.

AZ is actually waaaay easier/mainstreamed this year verse all previous years...

The AZ is an easy read. The most confusing so far has been the California Salt water/ocean regs. I'm dealing with fish and terms never before seen.[shocked].

Nevadas were pretty straight forward as well.

Yes, you can specify the dates you want your short term license to be, even if you buy early.

Thanks. Since I will be in winnemucca already I figured it would be easier for me to pick it up there at either the NDOW office or the Walmart or the ace hardware store.

what are you trying to do in cali saltwater? if your going to be in the SD area BFT are biting on 3/4 day trips. fish from a pier and no license needed, just remember you have ot land from the pier too.

you can select dates on the permits here, i buy short term ones for my dad when he comes in.

I will be in the Oakland area and there is a pier close to the hotel I will be staying at. I will have a few hours to kill so I was thinking why not give pier fishing a try.

another tip, stop by the tackle shop on the pier and chat it up. they can tell you whats working. Also if you hook into something larger, they have a gaff on a rope to bring it up so you dont have to land on beach.
