Well after the third coat of Flex Coat, I sure am pleased with it. Can't wait to whip a wiper into the boat with it. I've got ideas of making several for family gifts. I could definately do better after the first one.
Thanks again to James and all the good help at Hooked for teaching me so many neat new things.

Old Coot you, you, well... you old coot! That looks like a really nice wrap job. I tried one a couple of years ago without any instruction and a hand made, hand crank, rod holder. It didn't even turn out usable, let alone pretty. Made such a mess of the blank I tossed it to make sure noone ever saw it. Congratulations! I can't imagine how good it will feel when you catch your first fish on "YOUR" rod. Looks like I'll have to get out there for a class if I can ever get the time.

It is a nice rod indeed, I saw it first hand. This Old Coot sure knows how to put some time into building a beautiful rod. The family members who recieve one of these custom babies sure are lucky and better enjoy them.
Nice work Old Coot, keep it up!

Lookin' sharp Old_Coot. It looks like you have gotten the hang of it. I'm sure as you build a few more, you will get even better! Congrats on the successful build, it looks nice. Let us know how she handles the fishies! Good luck next time you head out.

nice job on that pole and I almost hate to say it I love the colors (wife gives me *crappies* about liking pinks, purples and colors like that) now you need to make one for muskies also because you seem to be find out how to pick them up more now.
speeking of musky I just got back some pics I forgot I had and your in one I think it is a pic of when you hooke that musky that got off and toar up my lure (the only one in the state). I'll have to try and post it for you soon.
anyway nice pole I might have to get you building for me now

[cool]Hey, Coot, a fine first effort. Hope you get the chance to turn it into a "WEAPON OF BASS DESTRUCTION" soon.
Are you ready to begin doing the fancy wrapping jobs? I used to do a lot of diamond wraps and other weaving patterns. Looked nice, but didn't help catch any more fish. At least something to look at when the fish ain't biting.
Again...nice job.
