We drove past it on Friday Dec 26. It is finally starting to ice up. Looked like about 60 percent had a thin layer. Still quite a bit of open water in setions. The dam looked more solid but we were moving pretty fast on the highway. Dont think it will be long now.

Thanks for the ice report. Cant wait to make it up there. And try to catch some of them hogs. I have had very good success when it first freezes over.
Thanks again,

Might have to give it another try. Over the past 5 years, I have not done well in that body of water. Heard there are some big ones in there, just catch them everywhere but Treasureton[mad]

Yeah there are some huge ones in there. I pulled a 26 incher out last year. I have caught most all of the big ones in way shallow. Tops maybe 4 feet of water if that helps any. It seems to me that they like white as soon as ice is on. But after it has been on for a bit they go for darker colors. Not usally as fast as alot of lakes around there. But when u catch one its worth it.

Thank you sir, I'm not to familiar with all the ponds in that area but trying to learn them. I prefer to catch panfish and that's about it other than walleye.

Yes, there are Bass in Treasureton......check the regs to make sure, but I believe you can keep as many as you want because the F&G want them out of there. At 430 this afternoon on my way to work it looked like one lone fisherman on the ice near the dam.....first I have seen this year.

Lots of People out on Treasureton today. Appears to be plenty thick. People on every end.

Yeah and I would bet money that 3/4 of them were using bait, barbs and keeping more than their limit and undersized
