Echo Marina/launch ramp
#1
So what is the dealio up there now? I haven't launched on Mead since May. From what I have read/understand you turn left at the stop sign/just before the parking lot with the fish cleaning station and head that way for a bit now? Is it all dirt or is there pavement on the ramp? Is there a dock?

Thinking of heading out there next week sometime just wanted to know what I was heading into. Total bummer they didn't move the marina some so the main ramp was still usable. When we first got the boat 2 years ago the depth is the same as it is now and the main ramp was good to go back then since the marnina was further out.

Yes you turn left at stop sign. dirt road all the way to th point of the jetty. the gov. dock is there and parking is very close.I like it a lot better it also saves bout 2 mins of drive time to your favorite fishing spot... hahaha

Good luck man Ive been killing the bucketmouth the last month. Got a few around the 5# range.

The launch ramp is still "inside" the Echo Marina correct? Just past the the end of the marina floating docks on the north side?

Just looking at maps.google.com that is where it appears to be. Might be a dated map though. I usually get out there 30 minutes or so before sunrise so didn't want to have to be running around in the dark trying to figure out something new, etc.

Or is it all the way at the end of the point?

All the way at the end of the point. its about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from the stop sign. Its a very well maintained road though

Roger all the way to the end. Going to need to toss it in 4x or is it a really safe/hard ground dirt launch?

Was pondering going back up to Utah to fly fish but feeling the bug to chase some bucketmouths around so thinking that is what I am going to do instead.

Planning on being out there Thursday and maybe Saturday too if the weather looks good. Haven't even checked that yet.

Nice smooth dirt road. A hyundai could drive it 100mph and barely rattle.
The fishing has been real good.
Good luck I hope u get sum bigguns. I've been finding them in rocks and bushes

Changed my mind... Heading out tomorrow. In the blue Tracker. Say high if you see us Smile Just Madi and me. Can't miss us.

Only took 3-4 hours to get the boat back into bass chasing shape. Been all primed for Utah and trout chasing the last few months. That sucked! A ton of rods to re-line, drags to be set correctly, tackle to be tied on, tackle to be loaded, etc, etc, etc

Not bad. At least you can launch up there. Could do without all the dust, etc. Made a mess out of the truck and trailer. How it goes.

Didn't find the biggun's. We did catch 70 total but nothing big. More or less a 50/50 mix of SMB and LMB. I guess if it takes fishing deep and slow for the big gals then I'm not catching them. Not me nor my typical pace.

Been 3 months since the last time we launched up there. I was totally lost on the water. Islands everywhere and everything looked totally different. Funny how much everything changes over 7 feet of water difference or so.

Is the launch ramp concrete? I know how to get to it, but was wondering if the water is so low that it's now dirt. I need concrete.

All concrete once you get out on the point (3/4 of a mile or more of dirt road out to the point from the turn off at the parking lots/store area). Nicely done too. Other than the scenery being different you wouldn't know the difference between it and the main ramp. Road/parking - dirt. Ramp itself cement. Just like all the other ramps on Mead. Your tow vehicle doesn't matter. 4x4 100% certainly not a factor nor needed.

I didn't try to look to see how far out the cement goes though. Will have to do that next time out. I know my trailer never left cement launching or retrieving my boat last Saturday so the cement goes out a ways. (Lake level 1106 feet)

Will be out there again in couple days (Thursday).

i was up there on monday. I actually like using that ramp than the old one. Parking is less than 50 yards from the ramp also. That ramp goes down really far concrete wise. I think about 200 yards if i remember seeing it right.

Only down side is the dirt road/dust that comes with it. but it is very well graded. Also nice of them selling gas up there at the store. Not to bad price wise also, 3.93 a gallon.
