Boils and Schools

I'll be the first to admit that I haven't cruised the lake by boat this summer, and with that being said, I haven't had the chance to scope out the activity levels in the basin--so I turn to all of you, dear BFT friends []

How are the shad looking right now? Has anyone seen them schooling up in the coves? And how about the striper? Any boils spotted yet?

I'm wanting to take a couple of friends on the water who have never heard of or seen a true boil, so I'm taking the lazy route and mining for latest info for this season--Thanks urrabody!

The wash around gray light has been blowing up with boils.

Caught 3 Monday morning at 33 hole sure there would have been more but the wind picked up

Crawdad cove was blowing up this morning. at day break I was packing up my campsite after a horrible nights sleep in the stifling heat, and watched as the whole cove just exploded to life this morning, I was so tired and bummed out about the heat that I didn't even grab a rod. my wife finally seen her first boil though it was pretty impressive. also the shad were in shallow yesterday evening I could see them pipping the surface not 5 feet from shore.[fishon]

Yes the fish are all over the vegas wash. The shad are from the size of your fingernail up to 3 pounds. It is a mystery every time you throw the net what be be in there. Here is a link of a boil Saturday night.

Wow,it seems early for such reports of great boils, but it does have me excited. I am going to head out this evening to see if its all true. Hope to give a great report of lots of top water action tomorrow. Also nice video, I am always to impatient with fishing to get such good video of great boils on lake mead.
