New scale and huge bass on same day!
#1
Well, figured out just how off my fish scale was, so I bought a new one today, before heading to the pond. Got there at about 5:30, and starting getting hits with a Senko right away. First two strikes, I panicked, and spooked the fish. On the third though, I was patient and brought in a beautiful fish. he measured 15.5 inches long and weighed 1.98 pounds. Ironically, though, was how I was working my Senko. I got my hits when I didn't jig the worm off the bottom, but reeled it in with a speed pattern, going slow, fast, slow, stop, a few inches below the surface, with occasional flicks of my rod. Found that pretty interesting.

That's awesome! I love fishing senkos right under the surface like that. There's a lake I fish where the bass feed heavily on the dragon flies. A 4" black/blue tip senko twitched along the surface on the moss beds makes the bass go crazy.

I know, right? It totally goes against how we are told to fish Senkos, which is just by jigging off the bottom, but it works really well. Going back again today.
