#1
So sunday 5/29 I'll be heading north to echo canyon reservoir for a much needed fishing trip. Not to mention a few more days of true spring weather befor Vegas starts baking. So I'll be posting ( depending on cell reception as I post from my iPhone) as much info as I can to keep all informed. I'll be up there till Thursday maybe Friday so feel free to shoot up n come fish with me if you want. Stay tuned!!!

Good luck and tight lines.

I'll be heading that way June 10th for some day fishing. I'm going out to Fry's Ranch 29 miles past Pioche for the week to help work on some projects for our upcoming church youth camp. Friday on our way home we plan to stop and fish for a few hours at Echo Canyon.

So give a good report, I'm interested in the fishing opportunities.

Depends on your carrier and physical location. Verizon works well but T-Mobile doesn't (atleast when I was up there with a TM phone 2 years ago). I don't know about the other carriers.

There are some dead zones but most of those are between Echo Canyon and Eagle Valley in the lower areas of the canyon and hills.

You should be able to use your phone in the camp area. But if no luck, find a higher area to attempt transmission.

I was fishing off the dam at 0630 Saturday morn. We drove up for the day, haven't been to Echo in a few years. We started catching trout immediately. Had our limit in about a hour and half. It was a beautiful day. The trout were smaller than I remember, but always fun. I went to the fish cleaning station with our 20 trout (4 of us fishing). Each person that was there cleaning made sure I knew it was a 5 fish limit and I had more than 5 in possession. Its funny about the cell phone service. I have Verizon my texting worked but my phone calls would not transmit. My daughter on the same plan her phone worked fine. Ill be going back in July for camping and fishing.

I was out there for the first time this (Monday) morning in my tube. Had a lot of hits and hook ups with very few brought all the way in. It was mostly trout but 1 or 2 crappie. I probably could've caught more but I wanted to catch some with the fly rod. I hooked into a monster trout trolling a green/brown wooly bugger on my way back in. He was kind enough to get within arms reach before spitting the hook, seemed like it just wasn't my day. I still had a blast and will probably be back out there soon; what an awesome little lake!
