Daniel, There are a lot of places in Oregon to fish right now. Coastal rivers from Yaquina Bay (Newport) to the Columbia is my forte. Right now the Salmon ( North of Lincoln City) and the Nestucca ( Pacific City ) are two that I know are producing fish and have public access, if you don't mind combat fishing. Yaquina bay should be producing by now but I haven't heard yet. Usually by the time you hear anything it's two weeks too late. I hear that the Clackamas has been producing Silvers and a few Chinook. I don't know what you've tried but hear are a few tried and true producers. Spinners are always a good bet. I like #5 or #6 hammered Colorado blades in Gold for cloudy days Silver for sunshine. When the water is warm and fish won't bite sometimes this method is best. I have for the most part been a bait fisherman. In the ocean or bays I troll plug cut herring. Killed em on the Columbia. In the deeper holes a bobber with sand shrimp and eggs has been the best producer for me. However this year I have caught more fish in the rivers with hardware. And last of all the mighty Alvin. It's like a small dodger that's a lure in itself. It consistently produces fish for me. Try running one through your favorite deep hole....Slowly. I fish one with a 2oz. cannonball in front of a 4' to 5' leader. You want to reel just fast enough to make the lure wobble back and forth, but not spin all the way around. Good luck, Bill.<br><br>

..I usually fish for bass but i sure would like to rip one of those monsters,but when it comes to salmon i have no clue on what to use, how to use it or even the good holes accesible by bank... If any of you could help me out with some techniques and suggestions i would appreciate it a lot...thx<br><br>
