good news at E-lake..

when back up to E-lake again today.. well started out going to huntington.. but as we were getting ready to put the boat in. 2 nice DWR guy's stoped in to check us. and i let them know that i had been on E-lake with the boat 3 day before but steam cleand the boat and traler the next day.. well he said i could not put in huntington becouse i did not wait the 7 days as well. i thought it was ether or.. he said nope still have to wait 7 day's if you do it your self.. i said ok i just i'll just go to E-lake then.. he said i could go there and get my boat cleaned and come back if i liked.. i said well if i'm going there i'll just fish there..

ok well got over to E-lake and there was 3 or 4 DNR trucks and a utah power truck there as well.. and we could see them pulling in nets.. so after get the boat in we went over to see what they were doing.. i asked if they were doing a fish survay they said not realy.. they were doing a Mussel survay.. then we chated for a while i asked if they had found any mussels in there.. they said that they have done 2 survays this year or test's cant rember the way he put it.. and both have come back negative! so thats the good thing right there.. i hope it stays that way.. [sly].. seen more DWR guy's E-lake as well got checked again out in the boat by two diffrent guy's.. so thats good maybe they can get them guy's that have been hurassing pepole harvisting minnows up there as well.. or scare them off..

on to the fishing report or lack of.. fishing was slow all day today.. i think we put about 20 fish in the boat for the 2 of us all day. we were jigging all day.. nothing of any size and some real skiny big headed cutt's.. about 1/2 and 1/2 tigers to cutt's.. i did catch one tiger that looked real funky tho.. we left about 3:30 so i could get my boat washed befor the nice DNR guy took off.. so i guess i'm good to go any where again now.. lol

Sounds good that there are no mussels in E-Lake. That is a funky looking tiger trout. Glad to hear you had an ok day fishing.

I dont think that the DWR was looking for mussels, they were lookin for the lost nuclear waste barrels that somehow got accidentally dumped and has been mutating many o fish. I hope they took care of it!!!! that tiger looks like it is half snapping turtle.

Nice report. We caught a tiger ice fishing that looked like the one that you got. We figured that it got hit on the head during transportaton. Also than ks for the info about the minnows. we've been up 2 times and got some to put in the freezer.

Electric, or E-lake for short.. is up fairview canyon.. it'a about 2 miles long. at about 250 feet deep on the south end..
