walleyes and gills

no joke, walleyes and gills are on the bite this week...

im already gone ..heading to my favorite gill spot early saturday morning..still havnt got the crawler picking rain..hopefully tonite..

are you getting them on the beds or the warm watter areas,,this info would help me to chose were to go.

the gills are pre bed stage...

I wouldnt scoft on looking in the worm waters for gills. I have often found them up in the cannals just prior to pre bedding...

I am targeting the same area as the beds will be in just a week or two...

the gills seem to like yellow. I am using a peice of fly line strike indicator on a number 8 hook... they are going after that so I switched from leaf worms to the indicator. If you dont have that sticky styrofome strike indicator try a small yellow hulla popper...

I forgot to mention, earlier in the morning I saw a saber tooth LMB jump 5 feet out of the water on macy day lake... what I mean is it was a mamoth of a bass... Last time I saw one do that I had a repalla hooked in its mouth, Dont know what made this one jump....
