Corbina on a fly at Belmont Shores
#1
My friend Marcus (Chuam) hooked into 9 YFC and lost a big hali while fly fishing at Belmont Shores in LB yesterday. So he calls me up and asks if I want to hit it up today.

We got down around 12pm and he threw a clouser fly and I threw a swimbait for a while. After a hour or so Marcus hooked up on a YFC. Then he hooks up again and his pole was bent solid. He yells over to me that it's another YFC, until he gets a look at the black colors on the fish. Corbina! His goal was to catch 1 corbina this season on a fly. Well he reached his goal with a not-too-shabby-at-all 20" corbina. Wink

I then tied on a 3" motoroil grub and immediately hooked into a YFC for myself. After the release I immediately hooked up again into a 19.5" hallie. Not bad for a day's of work.

Hey there guys,

Way to go! I went to 68th St (inside) today for a bunch of croakers on the fly. That strech of beach always seems to have something going on. The Belmont side seems to always have something to catch too. I'll try Belmont area Friday!
Hope to see ya around.
