[cool]The best time to go fishing is whenever you can.

Some species are more affected by moon phases than others. My experience is that in clean water, with a lot of bait, predatory fish tend to sight feed more at night and less after sunup. However, there are lots of other species that feed anytime they can find food...or only during daylight hours.

Bigger factors in fish moods are water clarity and temperature, barometric pressure, tides and currents, spawning activity, bait availability, etc. At least these provide just as good an excuse for getting zipped as moon phases.

Better to have fished and lost, than never to have fished at all.

Hey there halibutralph,

Went out on the 3/4 day Pierpoint yesterday. Catch was 1 huge sea cucumber YAAAAAAAAA I one giant Sculpin. Boat got 1 legal halibut (your relations I guess) a zillion shorts and sculpin. Fished Horseshoe, shoulda caught a bunch of bass but NO SHOW. Get this ! Water temp was 60 degrees!!!!

The reason is that you are fishing out of the wrong landing. Instead of Pierpoint come and fish Berth 55 and you will catch a real fish[]!!!
