roads open or closed

i was wondering if anybody knows a site or phone # i could check to see which roads might be open i'm trying to see if the pass over big mountion that is the road between parleys and east canyon is open or not

The Highway Patrol won't know the condition of that road. Try Summit County Sheriffs Office at 435-615-3500.

Good point 476. If it is not designated as a highway, the local sheriffs office or the local wildlife services office would have better info. Thanks for the correction.

I talked to a DWR ranger last week when I was fishing East Canyon, and he said the East Canyon road never opens until after Mothers Day. Even on low snow years. The road behind Jermy Ranch is open. It is a little muddy but a car could make it.

I was there Monday and it was definitely still closed. I did not say anything about an opening date but I have never seen it open this early.
