Michigan Fishing Reports 6-29-07
#1
Fishing continues to be good both on the inland waterways and the Great Lakes. The open season to take both snapping turtles and soft shell turtles in the Lower Peninsula will open on July 1st. Size and possession limits can be found on page 13 in the Michigan Fishing Guide.

There will be a new Fisheries Order phased in beginning June 28, 2007. Fish Order 245 is being implemented to help slow the spread of fish diseases such as Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia, otherwise known as VHS. To assist anglers with the new regulations, a fact sheet has been placed on the Fisheries homepage on the DNR website.
