Line stick reel doesn't matter. One that works.Pick your favorite landing long beach and newport will be a shorter run since they are wayyyyy down there.Mostly small ones but some really big ones caught mostly on the plastics. The plastics aren't proucing as much but they are getting better quality ones.

Just got back from an EPIC twilight trip on the Enterprise out of Long Beach Marina Sportfishing. I caught the first fish--a nice six pound sandbass on a 'chovy on a dropper loop. It would have won the jackpot but a barrie beat my grumpy. It was an awesome bite--"one stop" shopping and if you didn't get bit you probably didn't have a bait on the hook. Everybody caught their limits. We also had a good chomp on the plastics--pick your color--it didn't matter. They were slamming everything. Plus, this was July 4, and we had an incredible view of the fireworks on shore. In your post, you mentioned taking kids fishing--well, there was a large group of children fishing for the first time--they had a ball! I'm sure they are all "hooked" on fishing now! Also, the captain and the crew were great, and our group of anglers were great--no boneheads, whiners or obnoxious drunks. Now's the time to "beam yourself" aboard the Enterprise--the fishing's really "out of this world!"

Great input Klymons and fellow anglers,

THERE IS NO MORE OF A RUSH THAN TO SEE YOUR KID CATCH HIS/HER FIRST FISH!

Let the hats come completely off to the crew of the Enterprise out of Long Beach Marina Sportfishing. There is nothing better than hearing of a crew that works hard to nourture our future.....The Kids!

So what were hearing is most gear that gets the line in the water will pull up a sand bass. Freshwater and Saltwater gear is applicable. From dead to fresh squid. From plastics to jigs. From San Pedro to Newport.

What about Dana Point?
Are there any jigs that are touted to be Sand Bass Slayers?
Which Plastics are working the best?

Booyaa To Ya'!
http://www.fishingclothes.com
Romero
