DWR looking for help in solving fall cases
#1
Over the fall of 2006, law enforcement officers for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) in the Uintah Basin successfully investigated numerous big game cases involving deer, elk, and antelope. Concerned citizens brought many of these cases to their attention and the help is greatly appreciated. However, there are still unsolved cases and the DWR officers are asking the public to help solve the following investigations:

On or about October 12, a trophy 5x6 bull elk and a cow elk were shot and left to waste along the Diamond Mountain Rim.

On or about October 23, a 4x4 buck mule deer was shot and left near Rabbit Mountain along the Dragon Road in the Book Cliffs.

During the rifle deer hunt, a doe deer was illegally harvested in the Range Study Area North of Vernal.
Over Thanksgiving weekend, a buck deer was shot and the head removed near the Wolf Den Cabin in the Book Cliffs.

If any one has any information about these or any other wildlife related violations, please contact the DWR Northeastern Region Office at (435) 781-9354 or Conservation Officer Randall Scheetz at (435) 790-1070. Individuals may remain anonymous and may be eligible for rewards of up to $1,000.

It's amazing that people would do something like that. I just hope they don't teach their children the same thing.

[black]Yeah, it is a shame. But equally the travesty, as you've implied, Those poor sportsmen, learned their lack of respect somewhere - most likely from their parents. They will also probably pass it on to the next generation as well as to those individuals that are called their friends.[/black]
