Some of the biggest Brown Trout on the Provo River are located down through town. I have caught some monsters downtown! I'm talking 3 & 4 pounders!

Heres one or two for ya there UTBASS.
The best wiper fishing you will ever see is at night.
In the spring starvations walleyes feed 93% on insects.
And lastly, you want to catch more muskies? Downsize your lures.
Oh and theres some toad smallies in pineview.
Not really any secrets, but what ever is? One guy catches fish one way and one guy catches them another. Just got to spend some time on the water.

Hey Pred, you ever tried the Mayfly rig at Starvation in spring? It's one of the killer methods in the Great Lakes regions.

I did some reading on the whole mayfly thing. My motto has to be "friends dont let friends fish with flys", but you can bet I will be trying the whole fly and bubble thing at starvation this spring. The In-Fisherman have a couple books out on walleye fishing in thier critical concepts collection. In Bolth walleye fundamentals and walleye location they discuss the whole mayfly thing. I also think in one of my old Walleye insiders they did an article on the spring mayflies. You know I will keep you in the loop on the effectivness of the fly, but I am a fuzzy grub and crank bait man myself.

[blue][size 2]Pred, the mayfly rig--also called the Weapon--used in the mid-west isn't really a fly at all. But it's what they catch all the eyes on when the bite switches to mayflies.[/size][/blue]
[blue][size 2]And since I come to the board to share (unlike some), here's how it's made. [/size][/blue][blue][size 2]Basically, it's a small gold spinner with a few beads on a crawler hook. Only use about half a crawler, add weight and drop over the side and let it flutter to the bottom. Retrieve slowly back up, pausing now and then. The fluttering gold spinner apparently looks like a mayfly going up or down.The fish may be any where from the bottom to the waters surface.[/size][/blue]

I have noted over the years smaller is better at yuba,a few orange beads,small red blade on a light bottom bouncer,is a killer in late april,Deer creek try a lindy rig,white float and a mustade glow hook,early mornings in april,prespawn conditions.need help with willard though,that place has got me very frustrated.

I guess I could give up a secret . If it is . Some of my big Browns I caught out of the Provo and Green , I have caught at night . I will fish a rapala (floating ) and reel it slow on the water . My first Utah walleye was caught this way right below Deer Creek Dam back in 1991 . I thought it was a trout until I turned on my flashlight . I haven't been able to try this one yet, but have seen it work. Once, while fishing Calf Creek (between Escalante and Boulder) for browns, I watched a guy attach a gopher head that his dog killed to a hook and toss it into a large pool. While I had been catching some respectable 14 in' browns all day, his gopher head did not hit the bottom of the pool before he hooked into something huge. It ended up being a huge brown that weighed at least 8 lbs. And this from a stream that can be easily jumped in many places!
