How Many Hooks At One Time?
#1
[black]I was wondering what the regs were for droppers or extra flies. Here in Utah, you can only fish up to two flies per rod. I read a post where a gentlemen said that while in Idaho, he was told that he could fish 5 per rod. This is a bit excessive I think. Can anyone answer this for me?[/black]

I believe the proc says two hooks per line. The gentleman may have been mixed up by the five pole limit for ice fishing.

You can use 5 hooks per line. Check out "Fishing Gear" on page 12 of the regulations or "Hook" and "No Bait" on page 11. There are exceptions to this rule. One example is Bear Lake, you can only use 2 hooks per line.
Occasionally I will use 3 hooks per line while fly fishing or ice fishing. I have had up to 5 hooks on a line but it has been a few years. That many hooks cand be more work than they are worth.

Thanks Brian. I'll have to read those sections again. It's been awhile since I perused them.

Thank you B. I don't have a proclamation for Idaho right now and I admitt, I am computer challenged.
Thanks again.
