I am thinking about trying to build my first fly rod. I was wondering what would be a good kit for a first rod? I am not wanting to spend a lot of money on the first one, in the event of disaster. I wouldn't mind spending $30.00 - 40.00. I am looking for a 3, or 4 piece 9ft. 5-6 wt. fly rod. Anyone know of any kits that fall into this price range, or can give me a specific name of the kit, and where to find it? Tony

Try looking at some of cabelas kits. they have some pretty good setups. or even janns netcraft also has some kits.I think they both have a few differant brand names to choose from. most of the kits come with all the fix'ens to finish the rod completly. hope this helps. later chuck
