Hey, better late than never!!
We did launch the boat on the PWC ramp. The boat ramp is froze in solid. Found an anchor on the ramp in 4' of water and scooped it up.
Everything to the north is ice covered from the point that sticks out East of the PWC ramp.Water temp was 34 pretty much all day.
Caught some hatchery pets up toward the mouth of the river, right along the ice edge. Saw a big bull moose laying on a ridge in one of the bays.
Couldn't find any Perch. Had one Perchy feeling bite in 62' of water, about 300 yards north of the dam along the West shore.Wanted to fish the face of the dam, but too much ice. Could have broke it up, but the wind would have blown it back on my boat. Not good. Never did fish really deep. I'm lazy when it comes to anchoring in 75+ feet of water.
Found a few lures hanging in trees, out in the water. Looked around with the camera alot. Never saw a single fish with the camera.
Spent the afternoon breaking up ice. We were bored and having fun cruising along the ice edge at half throttle watching the ice buckle. Got most of the ice moved out along the west shoreline and freed a bouy that was trapped.
Not a very productive fishing day, but a good day on the water.

Thanks for the report Bob, too bad no perch were caught. At least you found a few things. WH2

Isn't it interesting. The things that we do when the fish just arn't there.

At least you know how to have fun even when the fish don't want to join in.

Do you think that there will be enough ice this year to ice fish by the mouth of the river?

Thanks for the post Wiper24

not a chance W24[pirate] I can still float tube there. Now that the weather has warmed again there's going to be more open water. I was thinkig that it might freeze yet this year, then it goes and turns warm again. I think I'll hit it this sunday and see what I can do though.

Your a brave man Perchfillet. you'll not catch my big butt out on 3 inches of ice! Yesterday the bay around the boat ramp was still frozen but not to thick. I will see what it holds for me in the morning.
