Lonetree
#1
Fished Lonetree Saturday and Sunday. Caught a couple dozen walleyes/saugeyes in about 10 - 15 feet of water on jigs, crawlers. Everyone was catching them. Lots of weed and moss removal from the jigs non-stop. Water level is good. Probably about a foot from full and falling. [Smile]

I've never seen so many boats on that lake at one time. Amazing. Anyone see the boat wreck at the ramp? We heard but didn't see it or the results.

Also, if you are one of the boats that ignores the no wake rule. . . you suck. I would like to know what makes you so special as to ignore the rule that makes that lake worth fishing? [mad]

Hi Eric-

Thanks for the report. Did you get walleyes of any size? I've never fished that lake, but I took a look at it a week ago on my way home from Pinewood and decided I need to give it a shot. It has tiger muskies, too, doesn't it?

What's the story on the boat wreck?

Never heard of the tiger muskie thing. Maybe you are thinking of Lon Hagler?

Walleyes were anywhere from 14" to the biggest we caught which was 18 1/2". Most were 15 12" to 16 1/2" though. Saturday the walleyes would just slam the jig and half crawler combo. Sunday, they would peck at it. White, Chartreuse, or yellow jigs seemed to be the ticket for us.

We kept a few for ourselves, so there are a few less in there now! [blush]

Thanks Eric. I think I was confusing Lonetree with Lon Hagler. Glad you caught some fish. Man, I do love those 'eyes! Yum!

We heard wrecking noises and yelling and stuff when we were fishing. When we got to the ramp a few hours later, someone told us that a throttle got stuck on wide open and one boat hit another boat. They didn't share any more information than that and we didn't ask.[pirate]

I always think of that story as we throttle up to get the eye against the roller! [sly]

[blush] I've done that with a snowmobile, but fortunately never with a boat! Boy that's an abrupt stop!!!
