Early Spring SH
#1
Got the boat back from a much needed tune-up so decided to run her out to SH to see how she ran. Got on the water around 4pm, water temps 52, clarity a little stained from the usual spring dump of virgin river water. Went out to 30' of water in the usual areas fishing Keitechs in the grass beds...nothing. Decided to move up to some structure and slow roll SBs....game on! Ended up with half a dozen females from 2.5-3lbs, and one male. They were hitting it hard for 52-53 degree water. Talked to a few other guys out there, no one was really catching much...still a little early. With mid 80's hitting the end of this week and through the weekend, it should get the water temps up into the mid to upper 50's and it should really pick up. This is my favorite time of year to catch big females as they begin to stage up for the spawn...and there is no more fun way to catch them then slow rolling SBs!

Just out of curiosity who do you use for the boat tune up? I'm in southern Utah and also in need of some maintenance.

I use Somerville Auto and Marine...It looks like a dive, but they do a good job.
