I have had some requests as of late about obtaining fishing info thru a PM, I have decided not to give any info of that sort out, I have in the past to some BFT members and most of the time with not so much as a thank you. If we should meet up on the water someplace and chat a bit I don't mind sharing info especially with people new to the sport. If you think I'm an Jerk then you are probably right, it is what it is.[:p]

I respect your decision and understand why you have reached this point. Often, when I don't receive an appropriate "Thank you", I will send the following three word PM, email, text or whatever, as appropriate, "You are welcome." That usually let's them know that they have been rude in not expressing appreciation.
As for me, I have probably shared as much information as anyone on BFT and will continue to do so. I pick and choose what I will share and with whom, but I'm always willing to help out those who could use a little help and ask in a nice way.

[#0000FF]I'm witchoo kid. You and I just had a conversation on this subject.

[#0000FF]I probably post and send out by PM more writeups, maps, links and other assorted drivel than most other folks on the board...so I know where you are coming from. When one takes the time and puts forth the effort to supply helpful info to fellow members it is nice to at least get an acknowledgement. I don't expect any kind of gushing response but a simple thanks would be nice.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]You and I grew up during a time when it was taught to be properly grateful for any help or kindnesses offered by others. In our modern take-it-for-granted world people are simply more demanding and less grateful. They seem to think everybody else owes them whatever they want and don't feel the need to exert any effort at gratitude.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]On the flip side, I am still a sucker for a polite request...and I still enjoy helping newbies to get up the learning curve faster. But rudeness...or a demand for me to supply or do anything...is a sure way to make sure it ain't gonna happen.[/#0000FF]

Hey Pat, you sent me lots of info on Utah Lake, told me how to get down to Lincoln Beach, and numerous other great bits of info. I do believe I thanked you for all of it, but if for some reason I may have forgotten, then here it is.........belated maybe......but heart felt.
THANK YOU [fishon]

[#0000FF]I appreciate your appreciation, but that ain't why I send stuff out. I'm always pleased when someone likes it enough to say so, but I don't lose sleep at night if they don't.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]On your account I do not show any negative balances in the "thank you" department. We're good.
