If I lived and fished in your area I would have a fishing arsenal. But if I were to select the barest amount of tackle I think that three outfits would be necessary. (1) An 8 1/2-9 foot jig rod(a stud!) (2) An 8 foot medium rod for 15-30 pound line (3) an 8 -81/2 foot rod for 10 to 25 pound test line. The reel for the jig rod could be a fast retrieve type like a Shimano Speedmaster. For the 15-30 a middle sized reel like a Penn Mag and for the lighter rod use a variety of smaller reels. I like the old Abu Garcia Ambasor with my lightest outfit. Load onto the reels 40 lb, 15-20 lb, and 10-12 pound mono. You are now ready for most anything that swims by excepting a bill fish or other monster but so what that's part of it. I got spooled on my 40 lb last year and it's still swimming.
