I was pretty close to the marina. If you walk down the boat ramp and turn right and walk maybe 120 yards and fish in about 25-30 feet of water. The thing that helped me the most was being able to reel up to the fish as I saw him swimming by on the finder. I was using a large glow-in-the-dark jig with eyes, tipped with a meal worm and dipped in smelly jelly. I hope that helps. I hope those kids have a great time. By the way, you should think about taking them to Rockport for perch and bows. We did well there on Saturday in about 32 feet of water (out deep).
