Wow, that did not sound good. I can see from one of your pics that the axle had some sort of lub zerk fitting but was it not working? Before this happened how often did you remove the bearings and inspect them? If you got by without replacing the axle you were lucky, most people that have a bearing seize like that end up replacing the axle. Because of the damage it causes to the axle, it could be that some mechanics just don't want to mess with all stuff you went through.[:/] Glad you were able to get it back on the road and home safely, even if it was a hassle. Aren't you going to make a trip up here to Utah next month?
