Information on props and pitches could fill several pages, suffice to say that you are looking for the engine to reach maximum RPM without over revving.
That is what happens if I try to run the berry prop at Willard.
The engine has to much hp for the prop and will over rev because a 19" pitch does not move as much in the water per revolution as a 21" pitch.
You can run the 19" just fine at Willard, as long as you do not over rev the engine. It will pull skiers out of the water easier and jump up on plane easier. My boat has different sweet spots where I am at max MPG with each prop on each body of water too.
To the OP, sorry for the Hijack.
I recommend a kicker too. One that is big enough to get you home if needed but small enough to troll in calm at .5 mph. (walleye speed)
