just maybe... some V-Hulls cut through the water better with some weight in the front - when I fish with my Grandson I would add a 40 pound sandbag to the bow to make the boat ride level. It increased my speed and allowed you to get on plane much faster. Some boaters move the battery to the front for the same reason.
