My fishing partner/girlfriend got a Pflueger President.at Bass Pro Shop when the deals were on. She likes it.
Handles 10lb. Fluorocarbon well. I did a top shot with 40# braid and about 2 max casting lengths of Fluorocarbon "leader".

I like the US Reels Super-caster. Out of production; you find them on eBay. A new in the box 320 SX auctions for about $60. An XL is the less fancy model (fewer bearings) but still solid. I would stay away from the X model and sizes below 230
Daiwa, Quantum, Shimano make a good mid range reel. Some like the Shimano Stradic. Sometimes Tackle Warehouse has deals.

Gotta do the research. I suggest you keep your minimum purchase price at or above $70. No need for something above the $150 range: just be bells and whistles added in.
