Looks a little low to me from what I can see in the picture. The amount of indentation should be less than 1/4" for that kind of fabric at the hardest point of inflation. I recommend a pressure guage until you gain experience on the correct "feel" for the firmness. On my pontoon, the maximum is 3.5#. I transport inflated on my car roof and after 40 minutes on a sunny day, the pressure will increase by up to 30% which is too high if I start at near maximum, so I start at about 2# for transport. Before going in the water during Winter, I go to the 3.5# max and it drops back to maybe 2.5# after 30 minutes in the water, depending on how cold the water is. My valves can be reached for pressure readings and adjusted while on the fly which I do sometimes to get the best firmness.
