I appreciate all of the responses.
I took a trial run yesterday. I was on a reservoir, not a river. It went very well.
I had no trouble stepping in over the motor mount using an oar for balance.
It was quite calm at the start but became breezy pretty quick and downright windy after 2 hours. The only problem I had with steering was when retying and not paying any attention. Otherwise, I was pleased. I had read somewhere that trailing oars would help. It seemed to.
I was able to stand up but I have trouble with balance on dry level ground and did not feel comfortable. I think I will do away with the lean bar and raise the seat. I suppose it will get better but attaching the lean bar took the longest of all the assembly steps. I will need to see if I can row with the elevated seat in place.
I am never sure when I have proper inflation. I think the addition of a heavy battery and a 55lb Minnkota changes the equation some.
I have tried to attach pictures but can't see if I was successful. If so, the first is of the beginning. The second is of a tube at the frame showing the state of inflation. It seemed to work and I don't want to over inflate. I believe I read somewhere that the Halkey Roberts valves with stop taking air at the proper pressure but I can't find where I saw that.
