odd fly fishing question

RE" and isn't nearly as fun to use as my mid-60's Perrine automatic reel"

OK, now That is something impressive. My father tried to teach me how to use an automatic reel when I was a kid and I never could really get the hang of using the blasted thing. Still have nightmares about it. That shows some skill, even if you didn't know what sinking line was. Wink

Dude, if you're ever chasing carp in a tube or 'toon, an auto-reel is the way to go. I hate having 60 feet of line piled up around me when Mr. Carp decides to make a mad run or charge straight at me. Being able to pick up all that slack in a second or two without letting up on the pressure of the rod is a lifesaver, imo.

Didn't you get the memo? I've changed. All your burrito are belong to me.
