Mt Watson Loop

These last few weeks have been full of mother nature's lighting show. Climbing Mt Watson has been put on weather delay for 3 weeks, so with the cold front passage complete it was time to take on the mountain.

Left the trailhead at 8am heading for the north ridge. About 1 mile in I realized that I was on the wrong trail. Reworked the trail back to the correct turn off. Before I knew it I was on the shores of Cliff Lake with a great view of the peak I wanted to climb.



No less than 15 minutes later I was at Watson Lake and Mt Watson appeared to be getting closer. Threw a few casts and had a fish on but lost it.



The ridge was a sea of rocks all the way to the summit......and it was a piece of cake I tell ya.

At 11,521 feet, there was perhaps the best seat in Uinta Range.

Eventually the fact that I had not caught a fish set in, so I climbed down to Clyde Lake.

Fall was in the air.......



....and the Tigers were everywhere!

Ended the day at the Trial Lake.


And happily hiked the mile back to my trailhead amongst the beautiful colors in the sky.



Got in the car just as the moon was coming up.



Brookies, Tigers, Lakes, Peaks, Creeks, and over 11 miles traveled. What a great day to play in the Uintas.
