Quick Lake Mohave Trip 7/7

Mojave Red, Willow Beach is mile marker 52, Cottonwood Cove is mile marker 24--so it would be 28 miles (give or take) to your destination! To give you an idea of how long it might take, I guide kayak trips from the Hoover Dam to Willow Beach (12 miles) in 8 hours during mild to moderate wind. In those 8 hours, there are a couple hours to hike and stop for lunch. I would say if you started your journey early and really committed some time to paddling and covering ground, you'd be able to stop and camp your first day more than half way to your destination--then finish in the second day. Just check the weather! North winds over 12 mph can slow you waaaay down. There are some cool things to see on the way down river btw that a lot of people miss, frogman petroglyph and a place called Queho's hideout are two interesting spots, look them up!
